Summer Wish List

I still can’t believe that this is supposed to be summer, it’s currently raining as I’m typing this. So top of the wish list right now is SUN! I’m still looking for work at the moment so if I get a job soon then these will be among my first purchases.

Summer Wish List

Deliciously Ella – I’ve been trying to eat more healthily and this is one of the books that I’ve seen frequently mentioned on blogs.  All the recipes in the book are gluten, dairy and sugar free.  I love cooking and think this would differ from everything that I usually make.  You can find it here on Amazon.

Jewelled Shoes – How gorgeous do these shoes from Dune look?  I can’t resist anything that is sparkly.  I think these would be great for jazzing up what could be a relatively casual outfit.  You can find them here for £59.

Colour Block Bag – If I’m going to be starting a new job then, I think that gives me an excuse for a new bag, right?  This one from Miss Selfridge in nude tones is great as it will go with most outfits and should be large enough to fit in everything that you need for going to work.  This is currently on sale at only £24.50!  If you want a bargain then check it out, here.

Memo Note –  I love stationary and I always find that Paperchase has the best selection.  These cute little memo notes are supposed to be a tomato, although I thought they were strawberries.  Since when have tomatoes had yellow spots?  Anyway, I’m always writing things down and reckon that they would come in quite handy for a starting a new job so I don’t forget anything important.  You can find them here.

White shirt with Bow – I love this shirt!  It’ll definitely be in my wardrobe once it’s available.  This doesn’t come out in Primark stores until the 20th August, which isn’t too far away.  At the bargain price of £9 I think it will be a great addition to most wardrobes.

Summer Wish List

Lace Trim Cami – I’ve been seeing crochet styled tops everywhere lately.  I’ve seen some really cute crop tops style ones but I think this one from New Look would be much easier to wear.  I think it would look great paired with denim shorts (or if jeans, if summer decides not to come).  You can find it here at the purse friendly price of £17.99.

Berlin Street Style –  I love fashion books, although I think that with some people they are a bit hit and miss.  I got the Paris Street Style book at Christmas, which I reviewed here, and think that this would make a great addition to my book collection.  It can be found here on Amazon for around £12.

Lace-up Shoes – I have so many shoes that I probably don’t need anymore but could easily justify buying these as I don’t have any like them.  Honestly!  These pretty little shoes can be picked up in Primark from next week (30th July) for the amazing price of £16.

Shimmer Waves Bronzer – This Body Shop Bronzer reminds me of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks but costs about half the price.  I really want to try it too see how it compares to the Shimmer Bricks.  You can find the Shimmer Waves here.

Denim Skirt – I’ve seen so many skirts like this one from new look and really feel like I need one for my wardrobe.  This style of skirt is so versatile that I’ve seen them paired with a range of different styles and it always looks perfect.  This one from New Look is only £19.99 and you can find it here.

Summer Wish List

Michelle Keegan for Lipsy – Actress Michelle Keegan teamed up with Lipsy to create a stunning collection of clothes.  This cami top is one of my favourite items from the collection – although it was really hard to choose, the whole collection is amazing and I think that everyone could find at least one item they would want.  If you want to see some more items from the collection then you can find them here.

Hat – I love hats, although I’ll be completely honest I don’t always wear the ones that I have.  I did see this one and want to add it to my small collection as I don’t have a grey one and it looks so pretty!  I found this here at New Look.

How to be Parisian  – You might have guessed from the fact that I have three books in my wish list that I quite like books!  I’ve seen a lot of bloggers posting pictures of this book on Instagram and really want to see what all the fuss is about.  If you want to check it out too you can find it here.

Body Butter – Body Shop’s Body Butter’s smell amazing!  I’ve recently just finished off their mango one so next time I’m passing by I’ll be popping in for a new one.  This strawberry body butter, here, looks like it’ll smell good and I feel like the Body Butters are really moisturising too.

W7 In the Nude Palette – If you don’t already know about W7 then where have you been?  They do great dupes of high-end products and this In the Nude Palette is one of them.  This one is similar to the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette but costs much less.  I bought W7 In the Buff palette, which is similar to the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette (review here) a while back and absolutely love it.  Since I use In the Buff so frequently I’ll soon be adding In the Nude to my collection too!  You can find it here on Amazon.

What’s on your summer wish list?  What do you think of the products that I’ve chosen?

Also I’m planning to announce the winner of my giveaway as soon as possible, I’ve had some family stuff going on this past week or so and I hope you can understand that my family comes before my blog.

Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour

This is my most expensive and probably most loved lipstick that have.  I decided to treat myself on my through the airport back in the summer.  I chose the colour Fougueuse which is a gorgeous cool toned bright pink.

Chanel Fougueuse

Chanel Fougueuse

Chanel Fougueuse

The packaging is so pretty and sleek.  The casing of the lipstick is a glossy black with a gold top, which is the base of the lipstick.  To release the lipstick from the casing simply press the gold at the top and it pops up.  This part of the casing is completely gold and just looks perfect.  The word Chanel is carved into the lipstick itself which is a touch I really like as it seems that only higher end lipstick make an effort to make the actual lipstick look pretty.

Chanel Fougueuse

Chanel Fougueuse

I find that Fouguese glides on easily although I find that you need to make sure that you have scrubbed your lips before applying as is has a tendency to highlight any dry areas.  It can be applied lightly just to create a sheen or built up to be quite opaque.  I find that this lipstick lasts around 4-5 hours before needing to be re-applied.  If your eating or drinking then it may need to be touched up a little sooner.

Chanel Fougueuse

I really think that this colour is perfect for anytime of year, it’ll look gorgeous in the Spring and Summer but I also featured it in my Top 5 Winter Lipsticks post as I think it really helps to brighten up darker outfits, and I think a bright lip looks great in Winter.

Chanel Fougueuse

This was my first Chanel lipstick but I think I can promise you that it will not be my last, I currently have my eye on the Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lipsticks, although I think it might take me while to settle on which shade to buy.  All of the Chanel lipsticks just look amazing and I really wish that I could just buy them all!

Have you tried any Chanel lipsticks?  If you have which do you like the best and would you recommend any in particular?

New Year New Products!

Happy New Year everyone!  It’s now 2015 and there are a load of new beauty products to look forward to this year.  I’ve done a quick round-up of the ones that I know of so far and that I think that you might be interested in knowing about too.

New Year New Products

Nars are releasing a new set of limited edition products called the Eye Opening Act Collection.  The gorgeous Inoubliable Coup D’Oeil Eyeshadow Palette looks amazing and something that I might try to get my hands on. The range also includes Matte Velvet Eyeshadow sticks and the Illuminating Multiple – a highlighting products for eyes, lips and cheeks.  The collection was released on 1st January and ranges from £19-£30.

Mac’s new collection is due for release shortly.  The Red, Red, Red collection will be out in time for Valentine’s Day where a red lip is a little bit of an essential, no? And it could make the perfect Valentine’s treat from your other half or just to yourself.  The range will include, lipsticks, lipglass’s, eyeshadow, a high lighting powder and nail lacquer.  I think the product that I will be on the look out for is Toxic Tale which is a bright coral satin lipstick which I think will be great for Spring/Summer.  The collection will be available online from 29th January and in store on the 5th February and ranges from £10-£20.50.

Benefit will be releasing a new under eye gel; Puff Off.  I love the names and packaging of the Benefit products and this one is no different.  The product features a small metal ‘ironing’ tip in order to make application super easy and to produce a lovely cooling effect.  Puff Off contains a blend of peptides to help reduce any puffiness as well as light diffusing particles to brighten up the eye area.  I think I may need to invest in this especially coming up to my dissertation deadline as I doubt I will be getting much sleep.  Benefit’s Puff Off is due to launch in February and will be priced at £22.50.

Bourjois will be releasing a new face powder which will keep you shine free for up to 8 hours.  The Silk Edition Face Powder also helps to even out your complexion and covers dark spots.  Bourjois claims the powder has a non-drying formula which I think will be great as I sometimes dislike using powder as it can end up looking a little cakey.  The powder will come in six shades and the packaging will have a rotating mirror and a sponge.  The packaging reminds me of their Delice de Soleil bronzing powder which also has a large rotating mirror which makes touch ups on the go really easy.  The Silk Edition powder will be available from late January and is priced at £8.99.

Revlon is launching another product to their PhotoReady Collection which will be the PhotoReady Prime and Anti-Shine Balm.  The product aims to prime and perfect skin and can be used alone or under makeup.  The balm is clear when applied to skin and helps to mattify oil while minimizing the look of pores and imperfections.  Revlon says that the is suitable for all skin types and all skin tones (as it dries clear).  There will also be a sponge with the Prime and Anti-Shine Balm to create a perfect application.  I will be looking for a new primer soon and I think that I’ll be giving this a wee try when it comes out.  This is due to be released in January and will be priced at £8.99.

Are there any products that you are looking forward to being released this year?  If you know of any other products being released I would love to know!

CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara

I love trying new mascaras and at the moment I’m loving wearing minimal make-up with bright lips.  I feel like my lashes look quite short without mascara and I really couldn’t live without it.

Clump Crusher Mascara

CoverGirl’s Clump Crusher Mascara comes in four colours;  I have the shade brown/black which just looks black when it’s on the lashes to be honest.  This is just the regular formula although it also comes in a waterproof formula, which I might try to get hold of at some point.

This mascara claims to create 200% more volume while remaining clump free.  There’s not too much to say about the outside of the packaging although it’s a nice bright green colour making it easy to find in your make up bag.  I love the wand of this mascara, it’s plastic with lots of little spikes to help coat all the lashes evenly.  I have to admit that I prefer plastic wands as I find that they make it easier to catch all the lashes and that they usually create an even coat.

Clump Crusher Mascara

Clump Crusher Mascara

I find that this mascara works really well.  It doesn’t clump and I think it adds a little more volume to my lashes but I don’t know if it’s quite 200%.  I do find that this mascara really helps to lengthen lashes rather than create more volume.  As you can see from the pictures below my lashes look quite short without any mascara.

Clump Crusher Mascara

L-R no mascara, 1 coat of mascara, 2 coats of mascara.  Bottom picture comparison between 2 coats and no mascara.

I find that CoverGirl’s Clump Crusher mascara lasts really well.  I can put it on in the morning and my lashes look the same at night.  It doesn’t smudge or go flakey.  I find that it comes of easy with some micellar water though when you need to take it off.

This is definitely one of my favourite mascaras at the moment and I would really recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a lengthening mascara.

Have you tried Cover Girl’s Clump Crusher Mascara?  If you have what did you think or would you recommend one of their other mascaras?

Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette

The Comfort Zone palette has eight gorgeous neutral shades, which can be used alone or together.  The packaging is nothing amazing but what it lacks in this area it makes up for in the eyeshadows themselves and is also most likely away to keep the costs down. On the back of the packaging there is a nice little guide giving a few ideas as to where to apply the shadows.  I do quite like the fact that they have where to use each shadow stamped onto the shadow itself but this is just a guide and you can definitely experiment with them.

Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette

Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette

I find that they blend really well and that they all go perfectly with each other meaning you can create so many different looks with it.  Due to the formula being quite soft  I have found that there can sometimes be a little bit of fall out but this isn’t a huge deal for me as it can easily be cleaned away.  The colours are all highly pigmented even without primer as you can see from the swatches.

Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette

Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette

With primer the shadows tend to last about 5-6 hours before they start to fade and crease a little.  I really love this palette as its great for creating amazing shimmery day-time eyes  but also for creating more dramatic evening looks.  I don’t think the picture does justice as to how gorgeous and shimmery they are.  For some reason the second last shade doesn’t seem to be as pigmented in the picture as it is in real life.  I think this will definitely be coming on holiday with me when I go in August.

What do you think of the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette?  And what other Wet n Wild products do you recommend?

Favourites of 2013

I can’t believe that 2013 is almost over and that this will be my last post this year! This year seems to have gone so fast and I really feel that my blog has grown so much this past year.  I’ve started blogging more consistently since January and can really see how much it’s changed looking back on it now.  I even took part in my first blogging challenge in September which you can see here. My aim for next year is to continue to work even harder on improving my blog and try and make sure I post at least three times a week.  I’m also determined to do more fashion related post in 2014 as I feel like I’ve not done a many as I would have liked.

I haven’t done a favourites post since September as I felt that I was using some of the same products and didn’t want to post the same things as the month before.  So on to the favourites of the year;

Sleek Rose Gold – This is definitely a favourite among bloggers.  This blush is such a gorgeous shade and would suit so many shades of skin tone.  It’s perfect for during the summer as it has a lovely gold shimmer running through it.

Collection Illuminating Concealer – I love this concealer as it really helps to conceal and brighten up the eye area.  I also love using this to highlight my under my brows and my cheekbones.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Rose – This has 5 shades which can be used alone or all swirled together to create a lovely shimmery pink shade.  This can be used on cheeks or can be used as eyeshadows.

Olay BB Cream – This first BB cream that I’ve tried and I love it!  I provides a light coverage and is perfect for days when you don’t feel like wearing a heavy foundation.

Urban Decay Eye Shadow Pencil in Clinic – This thick and chunky eye pencil is great for sweeping over lids and providing highly pigmented lasting colour.  Clinic is a gorgeous dark green with shimmer particles through it.

Sleek Lagoon Palette – This limited edition palette came out back in march and has lots of shimmery, watery looking shades in it.  This palette can create so many different and colourful looks.

N.Y.C City Curls Mascara – This little mascara makes lashes dark black and helps to lengthen and curl them.  This mascara isn’t overly pricey but it’s definitely one of the best that I own!

Eyeko Skinny Liner – I got this free in a magazine but will be purchasing the full size one when this little one runs out.  It creates thick and thin lines and doesn’t budge throughout the day, what more could you ask for?

Topshop Mexican Wave – I bought this on a whim and wasn’t really sure about the bright orange colour when it was in the tube but it became one of my favourites throughout the summer and doesn’t look as orange when it’s applied.

Collection Cream Puff in Cotton Candy – This is surprisingly moisturising even though it’s matte.  It last really well and is a gorgeous bight pink shade, which I think is perfect for spring and summer.

N.Y.C Expert Last Lipstick in Traffic Jam – This was the first red lipstick that I bought and I had no idea that I would love it so much.  It lasts really well and is really pigmented.

Barry M Ultra MoisturisingLip Paint in Vicious Violet – This is on of my favourites at the moment and is possibly the most perfect winter shade.  It moisturises and last really well throughout the day.

So that’s my favourites of 2013!  Let me know what you think of them 🙂  I also hope that you all have a wonderful New Year 🙂

P.s There will be a little giveaway starting in the first week of the New Year to thank you all for being such lovely followers 🙂
