My Little Box – February

I got my first My Little Box last month which you can read about here and I couldn’t wait for my next one to be delivered. The theme of this month’s box was Frenchie so I was desperate to see what was in. I love it coming as a box of surprises so I always avoid any posts with spoilers, so if you’re the same the same don’t scroll down any further!

My Little Frenchie Box

For this box My Little Box had teamed up with Ines de la Fressange, if you’re not sure who she is, she is a former model, the muse of Karl Lagerfeld and her style just seems to sum up everything you think of when you imagine French style. As always the first thing you see when you open the box is a cute little print, this month the quote says; “Life is never what it seems – and that’s the great thing about it”. I love the prints in this box and I feel that it really helps to make them stand out from other beauty boxes available. There is also the My Little World Magazine; which has interviews with Ines, hair and make-up tips and at the back it has a recipe for macaroons. I think I’ll be trying out the macaroon recipe and hopefully they will turn out a little better than my last attempt at macaroon making.

My Little Frenchie Box

The lifestyle products in this box are a phone case and a little pot of notes. The phone case is made of canvas and pvc? It has a little pocket at the front which would be great for putting headphones in or perhaps train tickets if you’re traveling. I don’t normally use phone cases like this but I think that I’ll be trying it out as it looks so pretty. The phone case is quite large so it will definitely fit a range of phones; I’ve pictured it next to my Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini so you can get a rough estimate of the size.

The little pot filled with notes is so cute looking and I love the idea of it! There are 28 little notes with quotes…I haven’t opened any myself yet as they just look so perfect and I can’t imagine the little jar being empty.

Now onto the beauty products! Here’s what came inside this month’s box,

My Little Frenchie Box

  • L’oreal Brow Artist Shaper – I really like this and it matches my brows really well.  I’ll give it a full review soon to give you my full thoughts on it.
  • My Little Beauty Embellisseur Teinte de Peche– This month’s My Little Beauty product is a complexion enhancer which is suitable for all skin types and aims to leave you with glowing skin.  I’ll give this one a full post itself I think, so look out for it!
  • DHC Blotting Paper –  This little pack contains 100 sheets of blotting paper which is made from 100% natural hemp fibers which apparently makes them more effective than synthetic blotting papers at absorbing oils and mattifying your complexion.
  • By Terry Kohl Pencil – I received the shade Bronze Generation. It also has a waterproof formula meaning that it should hopefully last quite a while.  I’ve yet to try this but I’ll be sure to update you 🙂

I’m really in love with these boxes and looking forward to next month’s box which should arrive around the time of my birthday! If your curious to know how much this box was worth then I did a quick calculation of the prices and it works out at; £64.49!

Have you tried My Little Box or any other subscription box?  Or do you prefer to just buy the products that you want?

Catrice Long Lasting Eyeliner in Pearly Bird

I picked this up during the summer when I was in Spain and I have been using it almost everyday since, I absolutely love it.  It was so hard to decide what shade to go for but I chose shade Pearly Bird as I didn’t have anything like this at the time and thought that it would be perfect for using on the waterline.

Catrice Eyeliner

Pearly Bird is a really pretty shade, it’s a shimmery champagne colour which I feel when used on the waterline really helps to brighten up eyes (great if you haven’t had a lot of sleep) and I think it makes eyes look slightly bigger.  Due to it having a waterproof formula it lasts all day on the waterline or if you choose to use it on your lid.  I find that if your skin, if you want to blend it then you have to be quick, as after about 30 seconds it doesn’t budge.  I really wish that I had bought these in more colours as I sometimes forget to not rub my eyes when I have liner on; if you have tried any of the other shades I would love to know what you thought of them and if they are as good as this one.

Catrice Eyeliner

The eyeliner is a twist up one but it also has a little “sharpener” concealed at the bottom, which is just a little piece of plastic.  As the pencil is quite soft this sharpens it fine, although I have to admit that I haven’t really used it.  But I think it’s nice that it is included and would be perfect if you wanted a really perfect thin line.  As you can see in the picture below you get a lot of product for your money.

If you can get your hands on any of the Catrice eyeliners than I would recommend that you give them a try.  I’m it sure how much this was as I bought it when I was on holiday in Spain but I do remember that it was not expensive.  Have you tried any of the Catrice eyeliner, what did you think of them?  Is there any of their other products that you would recommend?

Summer Essentials (4) – Eyes

As you can probably tell from my previous summer essentials post I love going for bright colours during summer.  To me, eyeliner/eyeshadow are really important and I would much rather have one of these on than lipstick.  Here are my Summer Essentials for eyes;

Summer Essentials Eyes

  • MUA Eye Primer – To me eye primer is a must to ensure that you eyeshadow is bright and doesn’t crease and fade thoughout the day.  MUA’s eye primer is great for this and doesn’t break the bank either at only £2:50.  The full review can be read here.
  • Barry M Liquid Liner  – This shade is Turquoise.  It’s a bright blue and dries to a matte finish.  The liner has a felt tip nip which makes application easy.  It last all day and doesn’t move once dried.  You can see my full review of it here.
  • Lumene Eyeshadow Duo – This was sent to me by Nancy in the budget beauty blogger swap back in January. It is part of the blueberry longe wear eyeshadow range and is called Northern lights.  This due can be used to make a bright summery smokey eye look.
  • Sleek Lagoon Palette – This was released in March and I couldn’t wait until it came out.  It’s filled with mainly shimmer shades with just 3 matte ones.  I have to admit that I haven’t used it too much as I really wanted to wait until summer to use these shades and to give me time to experiment with it and decide which colours went best with each other.  You can see me full review of it here.
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil – I have this in Ranson which is a gorgeous purple shade with a slight hint of blue.  This really does last all day and is one of the colours that I frequently take on holiday with me as I know that it will stay put.  You can see my full review of it here.
  • Collection Glam Eyes Gel Liner – This is a bright green glitter gel liner and the shade is called Le Freak.  I can’t tell you how many times that I’ve purchased this shade but I’ve been using it for at least four years.  Another that I take with me when I’m traveling as it lasts all day and doesn’t need to be touched up.  You can see my full review of it here.

So that’s my Summer Essentials for eyes, let me know what you thought and what your favourite summer eye colours are 🙂

Barry M Liquid Eyeliner Review

I love liquid eye liners and Barry M produces the bast that I’ve tried.  They come with a felt tip nip making them easy to apply, which is great for people who aren’t used to applying liquid liners.  The liners also dry relatively quickly.  Barry M has a large range of colours both matte and metallic.  The liner last all day without smudging; even in warm weather as I wore them frequently last year on holiday in Spain.  The two colours that I’m reviewing are black and turquoise.

The black is my favourite black liner as it dries to a lovely matte black; I’m not a fan of black liners that look shiny once they’ve dried.

The other liner I have is turquoise, which is a highly pigmented colour and is a gorgeous bright blue when it dries.  I usually use this colour itself during the day for a nice bright look; however I’m sure it would look great with other colours.

Barry M liquid liners can be purchased from the Barry M website , Superdrug or Boots.

Have you tried Barry M liquid eyeliners?  What did you think?

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil (Ransom)

Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencils have a lovely creamy consistency making them easy to apply.  I wasn’t sure about this at first as I thought that this might mean that it would be prone to smudging, but this is definitely not the case.  This eyeliner really does last all day.
The colour that I’m reviewing is called Ransom which is a highly pigmented purple with a blue shimmer to it.

Unfortunately my camera didn’t really pick up on the shimmer of this eyeliner.  The even though the eye pencil is highly pigmented you can build on the colour by going over the line a couple of times to crate a deeper and stronger colour.
I really like this product and would highly recommend this colour as it stay on all day and is an amazing colour.

Urban Decay eye pencils can be purchased from Debenhams and House of Fraser for £13.  Has anyone else tried them in other colours, and what do you think of them?
*I also have an Urban Decay Shadow Pencil that I’ll be reviewing soon*

Collection Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner Review

I recently bought Collection (previously Collection 2000) lasting colour gel eyeliner, in brow.  The product also comes in black, gold and teal.  The eyeliner comes in a box which has tips on the back for anyone who maybe unsure of how to use it and there is also a small brush included.

This eyeliner has a nice consistency and applies easily.  On the packaging it states that the eyeliner can last up to 12 hours; I feel that this is correct as it doesn’t fade or smudge throughout the day.  I would recommend this product for people who want to try something different but perhaps find liquid liner to tricky to us ( I feel that it is a lot easier to apply than some liquid liners).

If there was to be any negative points about this eyeliner it would probably be the brush.  I would prefer one that was slightly bigger but this is just my personal thoughts, as it is the brush does a good job.

Collection lasting colour gel eyeliner can be purchased in Boots and Superdrug for £4.99

Collection 2000 Glam Crystals Eyeliner Review

I use this eyeliner in No 5, Le Freak a lot.  The Glam Crystals eyeliner comes in a range of colours; Le Freak is green with tiny blue and green crystal particles.

This is my favourite glitter eyeliner as it applies smoothly and doesn’t look clumpy.  It dries quickly so you don’t have to worry about smudging it and it last all day (I have only used Le Freak but I’m assuming that the other colours in the range will be the same).  I’ve never had any problem with this glitter gel eyeliner and would highly recommend it.  Collection 2000 Glam Crystal are £2.99, which I feel is an amazing price considering the quality of the product.

Have you tried any of the Collection Glam Crystals liners? And what did you think of them? 🙂
