I’m so happy that the weather is staring to get warmer here and it’s actually starting to feel like spring, so I thought that this would be a good time to share my spring must haves. Although I tend to wear some bright colours during the winter I always feel like I wear a lot more during the spring and through summer.
I love lighter nail colours during the spring and feel like Nail Inc’s Marylebone Mews is a gorgeous neutral colour that just looks great with everything. I love pastel nail colours especially Revlon’s Eclectic which looks really nice with a glitter top coat – check out my Instagram feed if you want to see it paired with Avon’s Diamond Shatter polish. MUA is a great budget brand and with their nail varnishes being only £1 you can afford to buy a lot more than one! The lighter of the two is Natural Days and the darker shade of pink is Amaretto Crush. These nail varnishes do need a couple of coats to make them opaque but they last just as long as some of the more expensive nail colours that I own.
17 Cosmetics is another drugstore brand that I’ve been loving at the moment and their Cheek and Lip Tint is no exception. This is available in two colours, Perky Pink and Coral Crush, the shade here is Coral Crush. I find that this helps to give a subtle colour to cheeks as well as creating a lovely glow and blends into skin really well. I’ll have a full review of this up soon! I picked up this L’oreal Infallible 24 hour Lip Colour on a whim and I’m so glad I did, it’s really similar to the CoverGirl’s Outlast All-Day Lip Color. This is the shade Flawless Fushia which is a gorgeous bright pink and is great for brightening up your spring make-up. You apply to colour which then dries and last all day without transferring onto anything. You do have to use the lip balm included just to keep your lips moisturised as they can feel a little dry during the day. I reviewed Benefit’s Lolli Balm not so long ago (you can catch up here) and I feel that it is just a perfect shade if you don’t want to wear anything too bright on your lips and it also helps to keep them moisturised too.
Finally onto the skin products! During the spring and coming into the summer you want a light base that is able to provide coverage and protect against that harmful UV rays this is where No 7 CC Cream comes in. This CC Cream helps to provide coverage to the areas that you need it due to the colour correcting formula (you may still need a little concealer in some areas) and has SPF 15 too. You can see my whole review plus swatches here. I’ve started to get into self-tanning a little more now and like to add a little bit of colour to my skin before the summer. Tan-Organic’s Self-Tan Oil is a gradual tan that can be slowly built up to create a darker colour. I think that this is perfect for spring and the start of summer as the colour doesn’t look too dark so it looks really natural; you can see what it looks like here. Last but not least, DHC’s Oil Blotting Paper which I got in my February My Little Box. These are great for drawing any excess oil away from the skin without wiping away any of your make-up and is definitely something I think should be in everyone’s make-up bag.
So there you have it, my spring beauty must haves! Do you agree with my choices? Is there another product that you would recommend or have you been disappointed by any of the products that I mentioned?
