Sorry I’ve been so quite on here the last week or so, I’ve been extremely busy finishing off my final university project. Now it’s been handed in it’s time to search for a new job (which I’m really excited about) and it also means that I’ll more time to blog too! Yay!
Anyway, I thought I’d share some of the products that I loved through January (which felt like the longest month ever, don’t you think?). I love a good eye-shadow palette and like all the other Sleek Make-Up palettes that I’ve tried this one is amazing. Vintage Romance has a mix of neutrals and gorgeous deep pink and plum shades, all of which are highly pigmented and blend really well together. I had picked this up as part of a set in the Boots sale which also included mascara and one of their Matte Me Lipsticks. I am going to do a full post on this palette and plan on creating my first every YouTube video showing some of the looks that I’ve created with it.
I decided to pick up Barry M Eye Definer Liquid Eyeliner as I needed a new liner, and with a student budget I decided to go for something that wasn’t overly expensive. This liner applies so smoothly and it’s easy to create the thickness of liner that you like. The best part is, it stays put all day. There’s no fading and it doesn’t smudge into the crease of your eye which I found that some (even some expensive brands) do gradually through the day.
Another amazing product from Barry M is their lip kits and if you haven’t tried them already then I should definitely check them out. I’ve been wearing Pose a lot through January and I just love how well it lasts. I really love nude shades at the moment (I shared some of my favourites on Instagram) as I feel that they go so well with a bolder eye look or when you want a simple no make-up, make-up look. You can see a full review of Pose here and also of Runway if you want to see one of the ranges darker berry shades.
Another of my favourite lipsticks at the moment is this Bourjois Rouge Velvet lipstick in Flaming Rose which I got in my Amazon Beauty Advent Calendar. I love the teardrop shape of this lipstick, as it makes it really easy to apply and create perfectly defined lips. I find that the lipstick feels lightweight and although it dries to a matte finish I find that it doesn’t dry out your lips.
And finally, another lip product haha. I’m not sure that my lips would have lasted through the coldness that we had in January if it hadn’t been for my beloved Carmex. This little lips balm is ultra-moisturising and has helped stop my lips from becoming dry and chapped.
