Freshly Baked Self Tan Review*

With summer well and truly underway it’s time to bring out the self-tan. This is the easiest and safest way to get a gorgeous golden glow.

I recently tried out Freshly Baked Self Tanning Mousse which come in two shades (original and dark) as well as a variety of scents. No more biscuit-y tan smell, yay!

I opted for the original shade but it also comes in a darker shade if you prefer a deeper looking tan.

They say

Freshly Baked London luxurious tanning mouse is made in the UK from a blend of natural and organic active ingredients which develop into a flawless streak free tan that doesn’t dry your skin and smells delicious.

I always recommend prepping your skin before using self-tan so that you can get the best results. A few days before you apply it, make sure to exfoliate and moisturise your skin to create a good base for then tan. It’s also best to wax or shave about 24 hours before you apply your tan too!

The mousse looked quite dark when I first started to apply it but this dark guide colour makes it easy to see where you’ve applied the tan so that you don’t miss anywhere. I always find mouses so much easier to apply as they simply glide over skin to create a streak free finish.

These self tans have a lovely but not over powering scent to them, I absolutely loved the mango scented one!

I found that Freshly Baked London’s tan dried really quickly so you don’t have to wait around for ages to get dressed while trying not to get tan everywhere. It recommends leaving the tan on for 4 hours for a light glow and 8 hours for the best results. I left this on overnight and when I washed it off in the morning I was left with a gorgeous natural golden tan.

I found that the tan left my skin feeling soft and moisturised due to the active ingredients contained in the tan. It is enriched with aloe vera and green tea extracts which help to soothe skin and vitamin A and E help to care for and hydrate skin.
