I love an advent calendar and to be perfectly honest I can’t imagine having a Christmas without one. I’ll always remember that time my mum hadn’t bought me one and being so disappointed, I mean I might have been 16 mum but I still wanted one! The past couple of years I’ve purchased the Marks and Spencer beauty advent calendar but this year after seeing some of the products that were in it I decided that it wasn’t for me so I thought I’d look around a little first. I was tempted by the NYX Lippie Count Down and had thought about going for the Sleek’s A Gift A Day Advent Calendar until I found Amazon’s Beauty Advent Calendar.
The first thing that drew me to it was that it doesn’t tell you online all the products that are in it, it instead just lists the brands. I loved this concept and it means that everything will be a surprise when I open it. There is a little booklet that comes with that advent calendar that lists all the products but I chose not to look at this and instead just wait and see what’s behind each door every morning. The calendar contains a mix of full size products and deluxe samples which altogether comes to a value of £185.
The brands that it contains are:
2. Balance me
3. Barry M
4. Baylis and Harding
6. Bomb Cosmetics
9. Crabtree and Evelyn
10. Dr Lipp
11. Elegant Touch
12. Elnett Satin
15. James Read
16. John Frieda
17. Laura Geller
19. Molton Brown
20. Patisserie de Bain
21. Percy and Reed
With some of the brands you’ll be able to guess roughly what the product is going to be, for example Essie is going to be a nail product but other such as Rimmel or Bourjois it could be anything within the range a lipstick, an eyeliner and eye shadow etc. I’m really looking forward to Friday so I can find out what’s behind the first door.
If you fancy picking up one of your own Amazon Beauty Advent Calendar’s you can find it here (it’s currently got 30% off so you can grab it for £35!). Each day through December I’ll be posting what’s behind each door on Instagram and giving my initial thoughts on each product.
What type of advent calander do you have this year? Do you prefer one with chocolate or beauty products?
